Frequently Asked Questions

How do I book an initial therapy session with Wellness Psychology?

To protect client confidentiality and ensure clinical safety, we do not offer automated or direct online booking for new clients. Your first step is to fill out our simple 3-question contact form on our website to request a free 15–minute initial telephone consultation. During this brief call, we will discuss your needs, assess clinical compatibility, and—if we are a good fit—manually onboard you into our secure system to schedule your first session.

Where is your private clinic located in Wolverhampton?

Wellness Psychology operates from a highly private, custom-converted professional home clinic located in the peaceful neighbourhood of Penn, Wolverhampton. To protect the privacy and confidentiality of our clients, as well as our family home, we do not publish our exact street address publicly on Google Maps or our website. Full address details, directions, and parking information are sent directly and securely via email once your initial telephone consultation is approved.

What professional accreditations and credentials do you hold?

Our practice is rooted in strict clinical standards, safety, and accountability. Jo is a fully qualified therapist registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). We strictly adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework and data-protection protocols to ensure you receive the highest tier of private, safe, and regulated psychological care.

How is my personal data and medical confidentiality protected?

We enforce a strict data boundary between our public marketing website and your private clinical records. Our website does not handle, process, or store sensitive medical notes, intake forms, or photo identification. Once accepted as a client, all your clinical documentation is handled exclusively through Zanda Health, a secure, encrypted platform that complies fully with UK GDPR laws.

What are your session fees and payment terms?

Transparency is core to our professional framework. Individual 50-minute clinical sessions (both online and face-to-face) are charged at a premium flat rate. Payments for initial consultations and sessions are handled upfront and securely via our Stripe. If you are an established client, follow-up appointments can be securely booked and paid for in the room at the end of your session using our dedicated clinical tablet interface.

Do you offer emergency mental health support or crisis intervention?

No. Wellness Psychology is a private, appointment-only practice designed for structured, ongoing psychotherapeutic care. We do not provide a 24-hour crisis line or emergency mental health interventions. If you or a loved one are experiencing an immediate mental health crisis, please contact your local GP, call the NHS emergency lines on 111 or 999, or reach out to the Samaritans on 116 123.

Thoughts from Jo

'We are all in therapy with ourselves, therapy simply accelerates this process. It offers you space to process your experiences, develop greater self awareness, reconnect with who you are, and gain the clarity needed to make meaningful self-directed changes'.

Ready to Take the First Step?

You don't have to have everything figured out before you get in touch. Jo's free 15–20 minute consultation call is designed to give you a low-pressure, no-obligation way to find out whether therapy feels right for you, and whether Jo is the right person to support you. There is nothing to lose, and everything to gain.

Please note: Wellness Psychology operates a strict clinical screening process. All new clients must complete a brief initial telephone consultation prior to booking. We do not offer emergency or immediate crisis intervention.

If you are in crisis or need urgent support, please do not wait for a reply here. In a medical emergency or if you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 999. For urgent help that isn't a 999 emergency, you can call 101. You can also speak to the Samaritans, free, 24 hours a day, on 116 123.
